A roadtrip through the west coast offers unparalleled access to some of the most-unique, gorgeous scenery that the United States has to offer. Whether you want to visit the golden, sunny beaches of Southern California or the rugged environment of Washington State, a west coast road trip offers new views around every corner. While it may seem like a long-time spent in the car, you don’t have to rush! You can slowly wind your way through every state, soaking in all of the one-of-a-kind attractions. With windswept beaches, ancient forests, bustling cities, and enticing small towns, the West Coast offers something for everybody.
Before beginning to plan your road trip, it is always helpful to have a general idea of the spots that you would like to visit. Here, we have a few ideas. First, you should skip Florida and visit New Orleans before exploring the national parks near Utah, Colorado or Oregon. Then, you can easily visit national parks in California, Arizona, and Texas on your trip home. While this is an extremely-abbreviated itinerary, we’ll start filling in the gaps.
First off, we do recommend journeying out of Florida and beginning your adventures in New Orleans. As one of the most unique cities in the country, you can easily spend a few days exploring all that it has to offer.
However, there are several spots that you should definitely visit. One such is the Seattle Harbour. Here, you can catch glimpses of the Space Needle while experiencing the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Likewise, any visit to California wouldn’t be complete without a visit to San Francisco. While you’re in California, you must visit several of America’s crown jewels in its national park system. For example, you can journey over to Yosemite National Park and bask in the beauty of El Capitan and Half Dome. Nearby, you can also visit the Sequoia National Park.
